Friends, my apologies for not posting sooner after receiving and shaving with my Mastro Livi Custom Damascus and olivewood. Stoopid real world interruptions :P.
No picture can do this razor justice. It possesses qualities that can only be appreciated when you hold it in your hand. I responded to razorguy in a PM just now about it's performance and realized my response would serve as a good teaser here until I can take some proper pictures and provide a bit of a "mini-review". I'll paraphrase from the PM:
"It is exactly what I'd hoped for, like the Mastro read my mind. Classic, understated elegance that lets the Damascus do the talking. The spine treatment is absolutely perfect for the razor, with the light hammering. The scales, again-perfect! I love the olivewood and the fact that it is a wood native to Perugia.
This razor is not fast and flashy, like a Ferrari, it is sophisticated and clean, like a Maserati (I typically find myself relying heavily on car analogies).
The shave is very smooth and forgiving. Not at all harsh. And though an 8/8's, it is nimble around my face and the point shape perfect for very detailed work. It is an easy razor to shave with, it just seems to drive itself around your face (more car analogies :P) The feel of the steel is silky smooth, and odd thing to remark about in a razor, but it just feels lustrous and satiny. When it's in your hand, you know why people pay top dollar for fine Mastro Livi customs. They are simply without peer."
I have $40 dollar razors that have inspired in me buyers remorse. I paid substantially more for this razor, and feel like I stole it. I will buy more, and hope to visit razorguy and stefanosup in Italy before the end of the year to watch Mastro Livi create for me another of these examples of the Mastro's unequaled art and craftsmanship.
The take home point is this people: You can't appreciate just how incredible these razors truly are until you hold one in your hand. Then it all makes perfect sense.

Having seen and held your razor in my hands, I absolutely agree with you about everything you said about it, saved for the shaving because, of course, I did not try your razor in that regard. I am however sure it shaves wonderfully as I have personally watched Mastro Livi honing and testing it before he signed it.
I am certainly looking forward in watching your pictures as soon as you have the time to do that.

- Blade: 13/16 Extra Hollow, Square Point
- Scales: Umbrian Juniper Wood personally gathered by Mastro Livi in a woods nearby his workshop

hello dear friends, I present to you my new Mastro Livi
8/8 square point K720 purple colored carbon steel with wooden handle of Amboina.
Last night the first shave with this gem that I was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness and depth 'of cutting the beard. It 's the first razor with carbon steel forging Mastro Livi for me, but I think it will not be' the last!
I have to congratulate my friend Antonello for the eighth masterpiece that has added to its magnificent collection. An excellent choice as usual!
