    Default FWE 8/8

Here's one of my Engels razors.
I found it as NOS, so pretty happy about that
It is a 8/8 spike point in black scales.

Well, that's gorgeous. In my opinion, one of the most underrated razors ever manufactured.

Added this Engels to the stable recently - a 6/8 Special, near NOS. Blade needs tightening, and it closes way off centre, but is otherwise perfect. Love the look of this guy!!

'Honed my first Engels today. It was a 'Leader'. 'Clearly extra hollow, confirmed by the calipers reading right at .007". I took alot of time on it, and the test shave was one of the best I've had w/ any blade. 'Clearly in the top 1%. Of the 3 Satinedges I've tried, only 1 was that close to this leader. 'Very impressive.

Glad to hear! Love my Leader (posted earlier here) - yet to hone it but the sheer quality of it is what inspired the Special 6/8 purchase above.

I have an FW Engels Success on the way for my first Str8. I haven't been able to find any info on it. Would any of you gentlemen know where I could find more info on that particular model?[/QUOTE]

I recently found/acquired this same model! I have no info on the specific model either, happy to have a blade with the F.W.E reputation though! Here it is after some polish, needs a good honing and it will be in action.

I'm new, and my first razor is this F.W Engels. It's in very fine shape, and appears to have not been used much at all. I don't know what type it is, it's not a fancier model. It's straight, stays put when it's opened and I hope that after a 4000/8000 hone and stropping, it'll perform as well as the above-mentioned blades. Glad I picked it up! Anyone know when it was made?
