Thanked: 0So, I have an orphan of sorts in route; an American Barber Tools "gun metal" (Philadelphia) which I recently purchased on a whim.
I have seen other ABT's, all marked "Solingen" but never one without a Solingen stamp which (along with the price) is what intrigued me to purchase.
I don't have it in my possession yet, hopefully tomorrow, but I'll post pictures when I do. That all said, does anybody know more about ABTco., their years of operation, if they were just a distributer house, anything? My Google searches have been coming up empty, and I do not see them listed on taylors1000, uniclectica, or razorarchives list of manufactures (my default 3 "go too's" when I need information, I start there to see which direction it leads me)... Any information is appreciated as it may be a gift (or I may opt to keep it), and a little back story history would really go a long way...

Thanked: 0Pictures as promised.
Anyone that knows any more information on Philadelphia Barber Tools co. I would greatly appreciate it. I haven't been able to find anything about them, when they operated, where they were located, nothing.
As I stated above, no Solingen/Germany stamp (despite all the stamps being in great condition) leads me to assume it is made in America, (or predates required stamping?)
This one will be fun to clean up... I can't wait.

Nice old blades, guys.
I thought by the title this thread might be about Hirlau's razors!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

One of my very favorite straights.
