Thanked: 18A curious find (not mine) in the interest of the discussion. Blade profile aside, please note the similarities in the etchings on my early JMP Doble Temple and this C. Federico Ern 1920 Solingen, commonly referred to as "Crown & Sword". And isn't it normally Carl Friedrich Ern?

@ wrl: thanks for your post.
Love it: we are getting into the "higher 14 studies" here where investigation with picture proof gets us on the tip of our chairs.
Let's see what theories and feedback this unleashes?
Kindest regards, Jazor.

Good afternoon
I have recently taken delivery of this #14. It's an Imperial that I purchased directly from Spain. According to my knowledge, this is one of the brands that Jose Monserrat Pou sold his razors under before he started using the name Filarmonica. I am impressed with the detail of the goldwash that still exists on the blade.
I have not yet shave with this blade because I am trying to get my honing skills a bit better before I try. I am tempted to send it to a honemeister to set me up correctly the first time though. I think the scales are original bakelite.
Enjoy the pictures ...

Thanked: 40I just recently found this great thread, and I thought that I would post my own curious #14.
Here is a "14 Solingen" "Ongo". The razor has faint remnants of the goldwash that says "Ongo". It measures 8/8 at its widest. Anyone every heard of this brand? I bought the razor off of a Spanish Ebay seller who appeared to be liquidating a Spanish barber shop.

Hi Bordee: thanks for sharing, nice pics!
Yes, Ongo is a known brand: I'd be surprised if it hasn't come by in this thread yet.
Kindest regards, Jazor.

Thanked: 40Jazor,
Thanks for the response. I did both a forum search for "Ongo", as well as a general Google Search, and I have not been able to find any information about the manufacturer. You say that it is a known brand? Do you happen to have any information on it?

Hi Bordee,
Checked and found out I owned one at some point.
Totally dig the name and the logo though!
Here the pics I found:
Must have sold it on and don't have much info on it.
Perhaps someone else can help out with some info / history?
Kindest regards, Jazor.Last edited by Jazor; 04-21-2014 at 12:33 AM.

Hi mlvallance: welcome to the 14 club!
Thanks for posting: your pictures and the name made me wonder if this could be another name Hoppe indeed could have issued straight razors under.
The story goes he has used various aliases.
What is the story of you getting this one?
Kindest regards, Jazor.
