Sweet, Josh! That one may well become your 'Favorita'!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

@ wyobarbershop: thanks for sharing that picture.
For my taste transparent original scales are gorgeous.
Also the checkerboard etching on the tang is something I haven't seen often.
Congratulations with this beauty.
Kindest regards, Jazor

This very beat up Palmera #14 I purchased awhile ago, this one:
Needed cleaning, honing and new scales to replace the cracked and warped ones that I don't think we're original to the blade, and Valery from the Gentleman's Den just finished bringing it back to life, looking forward to trying it:

Another # 14 straight razor brand I haven't come across yet.

There is no "#14 brand". The blanks were all forged by Herkenrath (still operational, by the way), then ground by God knows whom. There will likely be dozens of "brands". In the end, the only thing that matters is the grind itself. Like today, #14 blades were meant to be ground into 7/8 razors, butcould be ground into 8/8 razors. Some of them, like the Guillermo Hoppe ones, Mehl, and a few others, are quite remarkable. Comparable to the best Wacker or Revisor razors in terms of *pling* if you let the blade snap back from your thumbnail. The rest... well, they were made by Herkenrath. Good stuff. Like there was a lot of good stuff around back then.

Thanked: 4828perhaps you are splitting hairs but I read this as the man said here is another #14 straight razor, brand I have never heard of. I strongly doubt he was saying #14's are a brand. Chill and appreciate the pics of the blade.

It is not correct that only the drop-forging Hugo Herkenrath in Solingen made blanks #14.
There were many other producers in Solingen, for example Gebr. Hartkopf, Bick & Biegmann etc.
I would like to add some brands:
- Monte Rosso
- Heinrich Böker
- Gebr. Weyersberg
- Paul Schulze
- Gebr. Korte
- Uniwerk
- Adam & Eve
- Richard Witte
- Romi
- Edaco
- J.A. Henckels
- Guillermo Hoppe
- Horstator
- Robert Klaas
- Dorko
- Revisor
