Hi Zozo,
Thank you for posting these nice pictures.
What strikes me is that this is the first time I see "Alberto" in front of the name "Hoppe".
As far as I know the grinder's name responsible for many beautiful straight razors was Gustav Hoppe when he was still working in Solingen for J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk.
After emigrating to South America (I believe Argentinia and am not totally sure, perhaps others can shine some light on that) he started using the name Guillermo.
The Guillermo Hoppe knives mostly still had J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk stamped into the shank, although exceptions may exist.
Later he produced under the brand "La Rana" (the frog or so).
Very interesting to see another part of the # 14 puzzle, thank you for posting.
Kindest regards, Jazor.

So I think the way you write, the more so because I buy the razor from Argentina.

how did i miss this thread/ club.. used a palmera 14 last nite. it's was so smooth, don't know why i bother trying other blades out... (i know why and the only solution is probably group intervention which i doubt is gonna happen here!)

@ globaldev: good to hear you also love the # 14's.
How about posting a picture of your Palmera # 14 here: we'd love to see it.
Kindest regards, Jazor.

here are just a few... i haven't updated the picture yet..
Spanish (Palmera, Fili, JMP, Imperial, etc) , German (Boker, Henckel), Japanese (King Pelican). just found one with no branding except Made in Spain tag and hoping to have an American soon.
I plan to modify some of the smaller to shorten the blade a bit.

@ globaldev: thanks for the picture, really enjoyed looking at the razors.
Especially the scales with the embossed logo of what seems to me to be the Palmera.
Kindest regards, Jazor.

@ pixelfixed: also nice Palmera # 14 and love those original scales as well.
Round nose # 14's seem to be more rare than square nose ones.
Thanks for sharing.
Kindest regards, Jazor.

Hello.
This is my veteran #14 "Eugenio Hoppe Solingen - Aevos".
This brand is referenced as:
Eugen Hoppe, Solingen in 1922. Brand names: 'Aevos', 'Eugenio Hoppe', 'Frogking', 'Hoppeso', "l'Avenire". Open-blade razor maker.
(see Razor makers)
I don't know if it is related to other brands such as Guillermo Hoppe.
In my opinion, Eugenio Hoppe is a brand name for Spanish or South American markets.
Regards
José Luis

@ jolgar: thanks for the pictures. Seems to me that it's related as Mr. Hoppe has used many names over the years and I saw "Aevos" linked to Hoppe many times.
Never saw scales like these: what is the embossed logo? Perhaps you can describe it or post a detail picture of it?
Thanks for sharing.
Kindest regards, Jazor.
