@ manah: thanks for the detail picture. Amazing this Hoppe brand. Possibly the one with the largest amount of iterations I've seen in any brand.
Kindest regards, Jazor.
It's not only brand.
So.
Curt Hoppe - maker,
Carl Hoppe der Jungere - maker,
Eugen Hoppe - maker,
Julius Hoppe - maker,
Samuel Hoppe - maker,
Wilhelm Hoppe - maker, stamp "Guillermo Hoppe",
(Samuel and Wilhelm are from one family).
Hoppe & Cо, the owners were Ernst и Richard Hoppe, later and Auguste Hoppe.
Well-known company Giesen&Forsthoff "Timor", has trademark "German Hoppe".
These makers, that I know only. Probably, there are some more.
As you see, not so simply with all these Hoppes.:)
@ mannah: thank you for sharing this info, I have learnt something.
Kindest regards, Jazor.
Great blades all,Jazor,I was quite lucky to find that blade,it was/is near mint in every aspect,Just a tad over 8/8,absolutly nothing needed to be done other than honeing it. The scales, which were not orig, were trailer trash,Thus the new set made to the exact demensions of my other 14 (see above).
Was rather surprised to find that the OEM 15/16,#14 and the 8/8+ with Ivory come in at about the same wgt.
15/16 being 71gms,rescaled 8/8,75 gms with a brass wedge, they both balance to perfection tho.
@ zozo: thanks for your addition to the list of Hoppe # 14 names.
In an earlier posting I stated also to have a Palmera # 14.
It's a NOS and has sort of marbled green scales of which I don't know the material.
The 8/8 blade still has the factory edge and it came with the fatty paper wrapping still around it.
Here some pics to share with all of you # 14 enthusiasts:

As stated in the earlier posting, the tang stamp "Palmera 14" is not perfectly symmetrical.
Love this blade and will see if I can get myself to start using it....
Kindest regards, Jazor.
fantastic Razor Jazor, thanks for posting,am fortunate as the palmera stampings on mine are deep and full,On the roundnose it is acid etched (cannot capture it in the pic)
I have this major Box fetish (crazy I realise)Do you know if your box is the orig? as I have the same my square nose came in,is no printing at all.

@ pixelfixed: it seems to be the original box to me and indeed it has no markings.
Somehow the green marbled effect of the original scales my Palmera # 14 came with "match" the green marbled box which seems to be the same box as yours.
Kindest regards, Jazor.
