Risky Russkis - рискованным русских
Anyone a fan of Russian blades? Rocketas, Stolichnayas, Orbitas, and stuff from Stiz? I've got four of them (so far) and find they hone up nicely and give me a great shave. I'll be posting pix of mine. Show us what you got and any information you can gleam from behind the Iron Curtain.

Thanked: 67Yes, I got a 5/8" Raketa a while ago. It was very sharp when I got it, and I've only had to refresh the edge a little, so I've no idea what it would be like to hone all the way from bevel-setting. I've had some good shaves from it. It's fully hollow ground, and it feels very light in the hand, but the balance feels right.
It was advertised as a 1963 model, but the tang has the STIZ logo followed by '65' so it's more likely 1965.

Thanked: 0My Stiz. Maybe not the prettiest razor, but functional. Bought as NOS, with stamped paper and everything. It arrived with the factory edge and it did not take well to honing, until i tried my CF. Hard steel...
