I am not, myself a Mason. But I've got two Masonic razors.
First up, the old guy. A Stenton razor from the 1820s.
And my other, an 8/8 T. Ascher (not quite Lummus' zweihander-rasiermesser, but still the biggest razor I own). The current best-guess is that it was made between 1865-1880.

Thanked: 1184I just this week saw a lot of about 5 of these Masonic razors for sale. If I find it in time I will post a link. Pretty sure it was in the Bay. IF your hunting you may wanna search them out. They looked to be in great shape but don't remember what the price was.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 2284This is my John Barber. Its from the early 1800's. I got it at an antique mall for 9 dollars and was in some kind of wood scales, that had split. I decided to re scale it in bone, and keep true to the style of old stub tails. Some have said that John Barber was not affiliated with the masons, and some have said otherwise. Although the symbol is stamped on the tang, nonetheless, I feel as though something "masonic" was happening here.

Thanked: 11My contribution :
This John Barber I bought from a farmers family in France. I have no idea how it landed there, those were expensive as hell, back in the days. The scales are original, and they protect the blade no problem. I never saw active rust on this one, but it has scars near the tang. I am working to shrinking my collection down to my family heirloom only, but there are a couple razors which I'll need a good dose of relativity to let go. John is one of them.

Thanked: 0Oh no! I really wish that I had not found this thread! I am a very active mason of some thirty years standing, an officer of the United Grand Lodge of England and a reborn wet shaver. Now I'm going to be looking for a nice Masonic straight! Yet another branch of my RAD!

Well, I'm joining the club today! I didn't know this razor had any etching until I cleaned it up a bit, I think it's worth more to me because of that
There sure are some beautiful pieces of history on this page.

Very nice guys ! I hail from Montgomery Lodge in Milford, MA. I am active in Lodge, and an Officer in the York Rite bodies. Although I am new, I already have RAD and have not even received my first razor yet..... I should be receiving it early next week. Now I am going to need a Masonic SR for my collection. I also collect Masonic Jewels, and Knight Templar regalia with the intention of researching the originating Lodge or Commandery and return jewels, swords, belts and barrels etc. to their rightful place.
