    I have an old Bartmann.

Very nice. Did you find your's needing a hone before you used it? Have you honed it and is it easy to hone? My edge feels like it will go on forever without need of touchup.

I'm also very fond of the Bartmann razors.

I've got three of them (two 15/16 and a 7/8).
The 7/8 I still have to polish up.

These are the pictures of the 15/16 blades.

Cheers for bringing this one up Robert! I really like Bartmann razors, but I've only got one and I think it's a contemporary Wacker model (never bothered to find out for sure though - bought it on German Ebay), but it doesn't feel like I think a vintage Bartmann would feel, (with extremely fine and delicate grind, like only the very best vintage Solingen blades can feel like):

Thanks for posting that beautiful Bartmann. Does it say France on the tang?

I was lucky to buy my Bartmann at an antique mall for $120. The seller had it listed for $150. The ebay prices for the same at $499 and $599 are ridiculous. I just bought one of JimmyHAD's Bartmann's and he has 3 or 4 more he will put up for sale eventually.

I just received a Bartmann 504 round point Best Silver Steel from JimmyHad on SRP. I will use it in a few minutes. It is 15/16 with the worked spine. Here are some photos Jimmy took.

All right, so I have a Bartmann 503 6/8, cracked ice scales, and a slight smile if I am not mistaken. I need to have it restored but I would be thrilled to be a member of this club.

I will update the pics when the razor is restored. I have the original box also, it says high class on it. If anyone here has info on this model, especially how it shaves, I would appreciate it.

    Best Regards

I shave because I want to, not because I have to!
