I did an image search. I've never heard of a 505, but saw that unlike the 504, it has no scrollwork on the spine. A plain spine.

Go to page three of this thread to see an example.

As Dimitry posted, I also noticed a great deal of Bartmanns are to be found over here in Belgium, it's an interesting given.
I checked a couple of sites and easily found 5 Bartmanns listed, of course they all fetch a serious price and Belgian and Dutch SR shavers seem VERY aware of this, it's too bad they can't be had for a relatively decent price anymore.

I inherited a Bartmann and would love to get a couple more, but the prices shoot up way too fast

I see these different type steels stamped on Bartmann razors, Silver, Manganese, Sheffield, etc. someone that has shaved with them, any noticeable differences or personal preferences?

I have one manganese and one that says best silver steel. I haven't seen Sheffield. I prefer the 86 Manganese one, but they are both excellent.

I have a couple Manganese and one best silver. I really don’t tell a difference. Both are very nice shavers.

Had terrible cell rot, tossed the scales, re-pinned it and polished it up some, I'm not as patient as some to get it mirror finish, this has been enough work already for now (:

needs a good honing and it'll become one of my daily shavers
