Prater Straight Razor 6/8 - Shave Ready


Well this razor is a bit on an enigma.*I can't find any information at all on the brand. I'm not even sure what country it's from. I would have originally guessed it's from Sheffield but the only Google hits I've had for Prater have been in relation to a park in Vienna and a beer garden*event in Berlin.


The blade measures 19.6mm which makes it a bit over 6/8*in size.*


The scales look to have definitely been replaced.*They are hand made by a good friend of mine out of a fruit wood.


The grind is a full wedge.*Looks to date from around 1830ish. *


Beautiful mirror finish on the blade.


The price is $58 which includes standard international postage to anywhere. If you want tracking it's an extra $8. Unfortunately Australia Post seem to think that tracking is a premium option.
