Joseph Elliot 13/16 Hollow Ground Irish Point, Original Horn Scales, Shave Ready
Offering one of my personal 'user' razors that has to go to make room for another: a 13/16 Joseph Elliot's (Sheffield) Best Silver Steel quarter hollow grind Irish point with original buffalo horn scales and lead wedge.
There is some light staining and pitting on the blade but not near the edge. The blade etch and tang stamps are quite clear. The scales have been cleaned, straightened, lightly sanded, and re-moisturized with a neatsfoot oil soak. The razor has been re-pinned with brass washers and pins.
The razor is freshly honed on Japanese natural stones: sharpening and pre-finishing on a Shinden Hon Suita using a full Asano Mikawa Nagura progression (Botan, Tenjyou, Mejiro, Koma), and final finishing on an Nakayama Kan Kiita with Tomo Nagura slurry and then plain water. Honing was done with a single layer of .007” tape.
