SOLD Wade & Butcher Celebrated Chinese Razor & Heathen Chinee !!
This pair of Wade & Butcher Chinese razors make a truly nice and rare set. The one has the pressed horn "The Celebrated Chinese Razor", with the filigree around it, the gold fill still present in the pressing. The other, a truly interesting and rare specimen, reads "Heathen Chinee" on the pile side of the blade.
This I'm assuming is due to the popularity of a poem by famed western writer, and Mark Twain contemporary, Brett Harte, whose poem, The Heathen Chinee, was published as a smashing success in 1870.
Harte: The Heathen Chinee
Both razors have the phony Kanji etched on the mark side. The Celebrated sports a 13/16 round point blade, while the 'Heathen' comes in at 7/8 at the widest point of the notch point blade. Both are shave ready.
Genuine blond horn original scales, lead wedges, W&B coffin cases.
$250.00 USD shipped in the CONUS, international shipping depends on destination. PM for payment details.
There are two Celebrated on the bay right now. One @ $298 + shipping, and the other @ $120 +.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
