Thread: Vintage Giesen & Forsthoff Square Point 9/16

For your consideration i have a vintage Giesen & Forsthoff from Solingen, just under 9/16. The grind is Full Hollow with a belly. The bottom and top of the tang have jimps. The scales are bakelite. I believe the hardware is original. Please look at pics closely. Pic#5 shows there is some discoloration of the scales. I believe they sat in a window or under a light for a while. This is a cosmetic issue only.

This razor will ship shave ready. I used synthetics on this blade up to 12k with one layer of electrical tape. Ill touch it up one last time before it goes out.

I will accept paypal only, and will only ship USPS Priority (tracking included) to the lower 48 free of charge. Outside of that i will have to investigate shipping costs. If there are any issues i will offer a full refund upon return of the razor in like condition as it was sent minus return shipping costs. The razor will ship within 48 hours depending on my 'real job' obligations.

Except for the slight discoloration of the scales this razor is in great shape and gives a great shave. The double jimping on the tang is a very nice feature. The point of the razor has been muted for those who may still be learning the art.









UPDATE 5/14

To sweeten the pot.. Had some time this morning so I finished the edge of this razor with a Nakayama Misu Asagi.. using a vintage Koma and new Tomo.

Tennex if you see this no worries.. did the same procedure on your new Henckels.
