Thanked: 634Thos. Whatham, Sheffield 5/8
Manufactured around 1870. Back of blade slight Hollow with French point and single shoulder. Blade measures approximately 2 7/8 by 5/8. On shank “THOS. WHATHAM & CO. - SHEFFIELD”. Blade cleaned polished and honed shave ready. One line of very light pitting on front side of Blade. Almost no hone ware on spine. Worked spine. Original horn scales and washers cleaned and Polished. Slight warp causes blade to close off center so close carefully.
Light coat of oil for protection on blade. Please look at photos as they are best description.
Honing: Two layers of electrical tape on spine. Bevel set on 600 grit diamond hone. Then 6000 water stone and finished on 12,000 oil stone, then glass plate. Then stropped on canvas with diamond paste and then leather and disinfected. A $18.00 VALUE FREE
I personally test shave each razor before final disinfecting. Shave ready is different to each person. Factors like light or coarse beard or beard length come into play. I have a heavy beard and test shave every razor on a two day growth before disinfecting. If razor gives a close comfortable shave I call it shave ready. If it does not shave right I rehone the razor. I hone razors as a sideline and have only had praise on the sharpness of the razors. Check my feedback and you will see how many customers were satisfied with shave ready.
Payment due in three days.
U.S. SALES ONLY! Free USPS First Class shipping. If you want to buy the razor PM with shipping address, email and phone. I will PM back with PayPal email address. Will ship when payment received. Will email you tracking number, and my phone number.
Thank you.

Thanked: 634Thanks
I don't make a killing on my razors. I buy as cheap as possibly. All work by hand. Sand, polish and rescale if necessary. They may not be the high polish finish that others do but I like to leave a little character. After all they are 100 years old plus or minus. Don't charge for my labor or the price would be too high.
