    Default Puma 75 - 5/8 shave ready

Manufactured around 1975. Back of blade straight with French point and doubleshoulder. Blade measures approximately 2 7/8 by 5/8. On one side of shank “75 - PUMA - SOLINGEN”, on other side “MADE IN GERMANY FROM - BEST PUMA - STEEL”. Blade cleaned polished and honed shave ready. Very little hone wear on spine. Black celluloid or hard rubber three pin scales are not original. PUMA logo from original scales glued in place and solid. Comes with an extra set of original PUMA scales that have been repaired. We're broken on back side. Two grooves cut on inside of scale. Steel pins inserted in grooves and super glued in place. See illustration.

Light coat of oil for protection on blade. Please look at photos as they are best description.

Honing: One layer of electrical tape on spine. Bevel set on 600 grit diamond hone. Then 6000 water stone and finished on 12,000 oil stone, then glass plate. Then stropped on canvas with diamond paste and then leather and disinfected. A $18.00 VALUE FREE

I personally test shave each razor before final disinfecting. Shave ready is different to each person. Factors like light or coarse beard or beard length come into play. I have a heavy beard and test shave every razor on a two day growth before disinfecting. If razor gives a close comfortable shave I call it shave ready. If it does not shave right I rehone the razor. I hone razors as a sideline and have only had praise on the sharpness of the razors. Check my feedback and you will see how many customers were satisfied with shave ready.

    Payment due in three days.

U.S. SALES ONLY! Free USPS First Class shipping. If you want to buy the razor PM with shipping address, email and phone. I will PM back with PayPal email address. Will ship when payment received. Will email you tracking number, and my phone number.

    Thank you.

The Puma 75 that I have is one of my very best blades.

This will be a great starter for someone.

For my education, what makes this a great starter razor, rather than intermediate or advanced. I'm new to straight razors and learning a lot - thanks....

Round point lessens the chance of cutting yourself with the tip of the razor. 5/8 is a good starter size. Easy to handle. PUMA'S hold an edge and give a great shave.

Yes, all of the above. I love Pumas. And the price. If straights don't turn out to be your thing, you can definitely re-sell this for what you have in it. You will most likely not find another truly shave-ready Puma for this money.

A great starter razor, is still a great razor, at any skill level.
