Merx & Co. Round Point - Solingen Wald
This is a Merx & Co. #59 1/2. It is a full hollow grind with a belly. The bottom of the tang has jimps. The scales are celluloid. The blade width is under 5/8ths. Please look at the pics closely. This razor was in a set of off gassing scales which have been replaced. There is some oxidation staining on the face of the blade and a tiny divot in the scales at the pivot pin.
This razor is ready to shave and has been honed up to 12k on synthetics, then finished on a Charnley Forest for a very comfortable edge.
This would be a great blade for someone who is starting off and wants a less expensive razor to learn with, but might want to try their hand at restoring a bit down the road. The staining (which is actually minor pitting) would come out with some very minimal sandpaper work. There are no defects in the bevel so with good stropping this edge could last a long time, and the pitting is not deep at all so this razor could definitely be rehoned a few times if needed.
For payment I will accept paypal only, and will only ship to the lower 48 free of charge. Outside of that i will have to investigate shipping costs. If there are any issues i will offer a full refund upon return of the razor in like condition as it was sent, minus return shipping. The razor will ship within 48 hours of payment.
$25 Shipping Included
