Selmour No.1, 6/8 full hollow
So, I am in the process of cleaning out my collection, as I have more than I need and like. I have come to the moderately difficult decision to sell my 6/8 (excl. spine) muted square point Selmour. I like it a lot, but I have plenty of similar razors that I like better, so this gets to go to a new home.
I would guess it was made in Solingen for the Japanese market by the Theunissen brothers, as they held the ‘Selmour’ trademark until 1932, but I am not 100% sure as there are no other markings. It has its original mirror finish, with some minor traces of water stains, mainly on top of the spine. It is not perfect, but still in very good condition. I doubt it had been honed more than once when I got it.
I would call it a full hollow.
The scales are original, black plastic which are slightly warped.
It sits tight and centred in its scales. It comes shave ready, honed on a coticule with one layer of tape (1 mm thick), re-finished on my Thüringer and is a distinguished, no-frills smooth shaver. Stropped and good to go.
Every razor I sell I will hone at no charge, as many times as you need (buyer pays shipping).
Of course I combine shipping.
Preferred payment is bank transfer, but of course I also accept PayPal.
€ 95 / $ 107 + shipping takes it.
SHIPPING
Contact me for exact shipping, as it varies quite a bit depending on destination, e.g.:
- Priority to the USA: € 12,50 ($ 14.09) 4-10 workdays delivery
- Priority within the EU: € 8,50 ($ 9.58) 2-6 workdays delivery
Economy shipping is around € 2 cheaper, but may take considerably longer, anywhere from one week to two weeks or more. Tracking from Finland is (when available) generally speaking expensive e.g. for small packages up to 250 grams:
- To most European countries € 14 ($ 15.72)
- To the USA € 27,30 ($ 30.66)
Without tracking shipping risks are for the buyer.
