Thread: Puma Gold #78 - 6/8

A great piece for collectors and also for anyone that wants an awesome shave… to this day I’ve never heard of any Puma Gold that does not provide a great and pleasant shave, and this one is not the exception. The gold wash is strong on most of the places it should be, but some other places show some wear.

As shown in the pictures, there is a small section that has some scratches (before I got it, maybe someone used a piece of sand paper years ago?) right under the flowers design on the front face of the blade can be polished and fixed if you want me to but it could endanger the gold etch will increase the price, so I decided to leave it as is and give you the chance of buying it on a better price and fix it yourself… nevertheless, if you prefer me to do the fix PM me and we can discuss the price of my labor . Aside from that small cosmetic issue, the functionality is in perfect status. Checking with 100x microscope the edge shows no defect at all. The scales are tight and centered and in great shape and the back side of the blade is in superb condition; as shown in the pictures.

The blade is Shave Ready (for my taste). Honed with one layer of electrical tape on Naniwa Progression: Chosera 1k -> Aotoshi 2k -> Chosera 3k -> Chosera 5k -> Junpaku 8k, SS 12k, and finished in Suehiro Gokumyo 20K. As I said, comfortable shaving for me (that means, my beard, skin, technique etc…), but maybe some more stropping is required for your taste. After testing, blade is cleaned and a thin coat of camellia oil is applied.

I only use tracked post for sake and peace of mind of both parties (to be covered by buyer), but no worries!
