Default George Wostenholm & Sons 6/8 Masonic Wedge, Ivory Scales, Shave Ready

Well, the time I knew was coming has finally arrived - my neuropathy has degenerated to the point that I can no longer use straight razors. Therefore, I will be listing my remaining straights, stones, and strops over the next several days.

Offering a rare 6/8 George Wostenholm & Sons Masonic near wedge with barber's notch, in pre-ban ivory scales and lead wedge. There is some staining and light pitting on the blade but not near the edge. The scales were salvaged from a Joseph Rodgers of similar shape and proportion that was rusted out. They are in good shape overall, with some yellowing and staining up near the pivot. The scales have been pinned without washers using nickel silver pins.

The razor is freshly honed on Japanese natural stones: sharpening and pre-finishing on a Shinden Hon Suita using a full Asano Mikawa Shiro Nagura progression (Botan, Tenjyou, Mejiro, Koma), and final finishing on a Nakayama Asagi Tomae with Tomo Nagura slurry and then plain water. Honing was done with three layers of .007" tape. I used three to keep the bevel as thin as possible and out of the etched area.

Asking $150.00 with free shipping via Priority Mail to the continental United States. Due to the ivory scales, I cannot ship elsewhere. If you are interested, post your claim here as per the rules and send me a PM. Questions are welcome, and thanks to SRP for offering this service to members!

I can't wait to add a mason piece to my collection when I have the money to invest into a nice single piece. Top of my wants. Beautiful piece.
