Thread: Scarce Josh Mappin and Brothers 13/16

Scarce Josh Mappin and Brothers, Queens Cutlery Works, Sheffield, 13/16. The razor is not shave ready and needs a trip to the stones.

The razor has staining and 1 small nick about blade center. The etch is very faded but reads, “Silver Combined with Steel.” The blade has some hone wear and a crack on the backside bottom pin. This is a cool razor and deserves a nice restoration job!

Am doing a house purge to reduce my stuff, so decided to let this one go—not much time these days to take on more projects, so will love letting it go to someone who has the time for the razor.

I don't have the skills to fix that one up, but that will be a beauty with the right person doing the restoration!

I recently honed one of these up for my barber but it had bone scales, a fantastic shaver. Offered to buy it but he wouldn't sell, said it belonged to a late fellow barber that he knew personal. Too bad my PayPal account is empty or this baby would be mine!
