Thread: Tanifuji Wogen. restored NOS.

This 6/8 Tanifuji silversteel arrived to me a few years ago in its original box. Blade was clean, spine had some rust spots and so did the tang. I unpined it and cleaned the tang and spine - hand sanding to hand polish.
Razor was repined with solid nickel silver pins and washers.

I only honed it once with 1 layer of tape ...shaved a few times then it was stored away.... it is shave ready.

Condition:

Blade - Silversteel.
Geometry is perfect with thin even bevels all the way both sides.
Blade sits flat on the hones. No warping. Grinding work is outstanding.
Steel has a hard temper, is finely grained and takes a good edge.
It has a nice audio feedback when shaving.

Pins - repined - razor had original iron pins that were taken out.
It was unpined for cleaning and repined with bronze internal washers and nickel silver pins and washers at both ends.
Pivot pin is tight.
Blade centers perfectly.

Scales - Some kind of celuloid i presume
They are in good shape with no scratches or cracks.
They are also stable with no signs of rot.

Box - in good shape.
Bag, papers, VDI paper are all there and in good shape.

Razor has been kept in storage for the last few years. It is sterilised, stropped and oiled.
