Thanked: 2ShaveSmith Kamisori
This is a custom made Kamisori razor made by ShaveSmith. I bought it about a year and a half ago with the intention of learning to shave with a straight razor, however I soon realized that straight shaving just isn't for me. So I'm going to part with it, and hopefully recoup some of the money I put into it.
The blade is forged in his san-mai pattern with layered Japanese Blue steel. You can see these layers in the lines on the blade that run parallel with the spine. The finish is his proprietary yurei-zu finish. It can appear dull from certain angles, but as soon as this finish catches the light it is really gorgeous. The blade is in decent shape, though I believe it could use a honing. ShaveSmith will do this for free (he really stands by his blades). It is a traditional western wedge grind. I tried to get a photo of the condition of the edge - if you need greater detail let me know and I'll try to get it for you.
This is a great blade, and I think one of you would really enjoy it. I used it a few times, and I found that I just prefer my safety razor.
This razor also include a homemade walnut stand that I made for it (nothing fancy), and the strop I ordered with the blade. The strop has a few nicks and scuffs in it, but is otherwise in good shape.
I paid over $400 for this blade, but I think I'll ask $300 since it is used, and needs a honing. But make me an offer!
Thanks for your interest!
