Thread: 6/8 Frederick's Celebrated Near Wedge w/ Barber Notch

For your consideration is a 6/8 Frederick's Celebrated Sheffield near wedge with barber notch. Blade has some staining and considerable pitting, edge is clean, bevel is uneven in the heel area. Blade centers snugly between Blue Acrylic scales with Ivory Acrylic spacer, brass pins and washers.

Due to the heel condition this boy was a real bear to hone, it took three tries to get it shaving. Bevel set on Chosera 1k, honed on Naniwa 2k Green brick, Select Coticule the first and second try, the 2 Welsh Slate hones (Dragon Tongue & Yellow Lake) the third time which worked, then 12k Chinese and finally Translucent Arkansas. Stropping done on Chromium Oxide pasted Balsa paddle strop, Ferrous Oxide pasted Balsa paddle strop then SRD poly-web/leather strop.

Razor was shave tested with 3 passes and is shave ready by my standards and will be coated with mineral oil before shipping to help prevent rust.
