MINT 6/8 Le Grelot Ebony wood scales
This is a Lovely Modern Le Grelot made by Thiers Issard (they now own the trade mark) The 6/8 round point blade is etched with the Historic medaille d'or mark, stated as having a half hollow ground blade,
Very well made a true beauty
I have honed this beauty myself
1 layer of Scotch 88 tape

Naniwa Snow White 8k
SG10k
SG20k
Stropped on linen and Roo strop,
Complete with the original Retro style cardboard box and a Felt pouch for storage,

( the razor cost me just over £150) so the £99 price with the pouch true shave ready and free shipping is an absolute steal!!

Shipping usually takes a week to 10 days, BUT as its Holiday season etc.... it may take a bit longer.
A very good shaver, I just prefer a thicker blade, my 2 Hart razors are my go to straights
If your interested PM me, please be aware I am UK based hence the £££ price, and be patient with PM's due to time difference,
Thanks for looking

Thanked: 292I am not questioning the OP's claim that the Le Greltot blade was made by TI. I just wanted to clarify the current status of the brand.
At one time, Le Grelot was the trademark of P. Hospital in Thiers.
Thiers Issard purchased the Le Grelot brand and did produce some razors using blanks acquired from P. Hospital. However, they let the trademark fall into disuse and did not renew the registration.
Ertan Suer of Rasoir Sabre obtained the rights to the expired trademark and reintroduced the Le Grelot brand. Some of Ertan's blades have been sold under the Le Grelot brand and some bear his own name. He has manufactured blades both in Thiers, France and in Turkey. It is my understanding that all his blades bearing the Le Grelot brand were crafted in Thiers from Thiers blanks. The blades sold under his own name are either Thiers blanks or Solingen blanks.
Thus, depending up on the date of manufacture, Le Grelot blades may be crafted by P. Hospital, Thiers Issard, or Rasoir Sabre/Ertan Suer. How's that for confusion.Last edited by RayClem; 12-28-2018 at 02:57 AM.

This is correct. I spent time with Ertan, who is in the process of relocating to the Vosges mountains of France, this past November. Really, a very knowledgeable guy and a passionate straight-razor enthusiast. As for the razor the OP has listed, perhaps it was one of those Grelots that Thiers-Issard was selling around 2010-2011 or so?

Thats where I got the razor from and the source of my information, They are a respected retailer and one of the main TI retailers in the UK so I have no real reason to think the information maybe wrong.
Sorry if what I posted maybe incorrect but Ive had and sold a quite a few modern TI razors and the steel seamed and felt exactly the same imho when honed so that also gave me no reason to doubt it.
