Thanked: 156Iwasaki tamahagane western razor lot
Iwasaki TAMAHAGANE lot 1694.3
21 mm wide
From my personal collection.
This is a grail razor for many of us.
Sadly i am searching for something and need to fund it so have to part with it.
Condition - Can be seen in pics. I would say good to mint condition.
Blade was gently restored and cleaned without unpinning.
I tried to keep the factory finish as close to possible.
It had no big rust issues to begin with and NO HONEWARE so restoration was minimal - mostly buffing and hand polishing.
Blade:
-Spotless. 21mm wide(new it would be @ 21-21.5 mm)
-Hollows and spine are clean as can be seen in pics.
-Tang was cleaned and polished by hand without sanding or unpinning.
-Gimps are clean!
-Geometry is spot on with no honeware!
-Bevels are nice and even all the way both sides.
-Sits flat on the hones and is easy to sharpen.
-Has been honed with 1 layer of Tessa tape.
Scales:
-Original black bakelite scales with white spacer.
-In great condition with no cracks or scratches.
-Straight.
Pins and washers:
-Original iron pins.
-Razor was never unpinned.
-Tight as can be with perfect smooth closing motion to dead center!
Will be shipped worldwide packed well and tracked.
Ships SHAVE READY, sterilised and oiled.
price is 1200 $ + shipping of buyers choise.
P.S. from my experience this is a medium to high temper tamahagane.
It takes a stellar edge but is not a p.i.t.a. to hone.
Thank you all for looking.
Have a nice day!
