Manufactured 1847-1991. Back of blade straight with Barber notch tip and single shoulder. Blade measures approximately 3 x 13/16. Engraved on blade “MASONIC SYMBOLS”. On shank “GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & SON'S - CELEBRATED I-XL RAZOR - WASHINGTON WORKS - SHEFFIELD”. Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Dark horn scales cleaned and polished. Bug bites filled with super glue. Original domed washers. Comes with box in fair condition.<br>

Manufactured 1847-1991. Back of blade hollow with Spanish point and double shoulder. Blade measures approximately 2 ⅞ x 6/8. On blade "pipe logo - THE ORIGINAL AND ONLY PIPE RAZOR - MANUFACTURED SOLELY BY - GEO. WOSTENHOLM & SON - MARH-GRANTED-A.D.1694". On one side of shank "Pipe logo", on other side "GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & SON - SOLE MANUFACTURERS OF THE - ORIGINAL AND TRUE PIPE RAZOR". Blade shortened ⅛" due to crack in blade. I think there is a tight hairline in bevel about ½" from tip. Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Hard rubber scales cleaned and polished. Pins tight.<br>

Light coat of oil for protection on blade. Please look at photos as they are best description.

Honing: One layer of electrical tape on spine. Bevel set on 600 grit diamond hone. Then 6000 water stone and finished on 12,000 oil stone, then 20K Jasper water stone. Then stropped on canvas with diamond paste and then leather and disinfected. A $18.00 VALUE FREE

I personally test shave each razor before final disinfection. Shave ready is different to each person. Factors like light or coarse beard or beard length come into play. I have a heavy beard and test shave every razor on a two day growth. If razor gives a close comfortable shave I call it shave ready. If it does not shave right I re-hone the razor.
