8/8+ W. Picard razor #41 shave ready
I’m further thinning my collection somewhat and let this fine blade go, since I have one already. This one has four crosses in a circle on the face side and the model number 41 on the back. These were made by Carl Greis in Kronenberg, Germany in the late 19th century. So a bit over a hundred years old.
It has been a fine razor in my rotation, giving comfortable shaves. A hair shy of 17/16 I will leave it at 8/8+. A few minor bug bites in the horn scales. Blade closes well, albeit slightly off-center, but it doesn’ t catch the scales.
The razor was finished on my Nakayama karasu hone with two layers of electric tape. Shave ready by my standards.

Interesting. We rarely see razors that age made in Germany.
