8 Bare Sheffield Quarter Hollows in 8 Random Coffins
All these blades are quarter hollow ground, ranging in size from 5/8 to 7/8. With the exception of 1, 3, 7, and 8 they could go into scales for honing and shaving. 1, 3, and 8 have some small spots of red rust, and 7 has the band on the back. Either would come off with metal polish and 000 steel wool or similar, but I'm not going to bother in case you want to restore them. 1 and 2 have been buffed and are quite shiny, 5 looks like it had a quick spin on a buffer just to see what was underneath. Given that all are heavy blades, all could be candidates for full resto work.
Each blade will come in a random vintage coffin in random condition. These are just to protect the blades during shipping/handling/storage and because I have a ton of empty coffins that don't match blades I own or can find. Personally, I don't consider the coffins worth anything, and have not considered them as part of the asking price.
From left to right:
1. E. Blaydes & Co. Sheffield. Can't tell what the trademark is.
2. Non XLL Joseph Allen & Sons Sheffield England.
3. George Wostenholm & Sons Celebrated IXL Razor Washington Works Sheffield. The blade has the eagle and American Razor on it. The etch is pretty good, but given the pitting I'm not sure how a full resto attempt would come out.
4. Thomas W. Ward & Co. Sheffield. Blade has a groove ground just under the spine on the front only.
5. Manufactured by Frederick Reynolds Sheffield. Has a horizontal R, but the other letter is missing due to the grind.
6. Non XLL Joseph Allen & Sons Sheffield England. Blade has the Medium Size Hollow Ground etch. Would probably survive a resto.
7. John Mc Glory Sheffield. Blade has the faint remains of what I think is the light etch done when a blade gets a frost that says "The Glory's Morning" with some design to it. Would not survive resto.
8. Manhattan Cutlery Co Sheffield. Blade has the faint remains of what I think is the light etch done when a blade gets a frost that says "Diamond Edge" at the top and other stuff that I can't make out below that. Would not survive resto.
I'd like to sell these as a lot for $300 shipped in the US, but I'm open to offers. I will ship outside the US, but I'll have to look into pricing. I can email larger photos on request.

Thanked: 17While I do not have the skill (or time) to restore these, I just realized - you have more project razors than I have razors! I may be a bit jealous....
