The Renaissance was made in carbon steel and also made with stainless steel. I believe this one is carbon steel. I've seen the stainless steel version marked 'INOX' on the blade or on the scales.

Have the same razor in stainless... The "Bismarck" blank this is based on is a very good one, and certainly exhibits all the best qualities of modern German razors. The only difference I can see in the markings is on the scales, which have a Solingen marking and "INOX".
