Bought it second hand in 2015. There is hone wear and some pitting near the tang from my own long term storage. I tried using oil once, but the blade needs to be absolutely dry before applying it. When it has been in my ownership, there has been no rust on the blade itself, but the tang does have black oxide. The razor is vertically quenched, when polished or etched, a line appears at the blade - tang junction that marks harder and softer steel. I saw it when I polished it with japanese natural powder, but hand-polished it with metal polish, which removed the contrast. Otherwise, this is some of the hardest carbon steel I've sharpened, and takes one of the finest possible edges I've experience and sharpened to. It also happens to take different kind of edges and types of refinement, if that's something you would like (toothier, or smoother, etc). For those of you in the know, Yukio Kamijo was a mentor to Iwasaki, and are comparable if not slightly better in my opinion, having used 4 iwasaki, and this one Kamijo. Kamijo razors are also much harder to find, since the maker is long deceased. The tang-pivot junction has black oxide on it, so I put oil there to help clean it out and reduce further oxidation, at least without taking the scales apart, which I didn't want to do.

I'll hone it to the best of my ability before shipping. I have some razor japanese natural stones, and a strop (both cloth and leather). My background, otherwise, is in Japanese kitchen knives. Crosslisted (selling on another forum, too). I'll try to polish it up a bit more, too.
