Default A. Wetzel from Great Grandfather

Sorry in advance for no pics but my camera is busted. I'm lazy and won't fix it.

The razor is an "A. Wetzel" on the other side of the spine it says "Germany"

The scales are almost a tiger stripe design with nice decorative metal ends.

Is this something I should keep in the shape it is now in case it's worth something?

Or can I knock some material off the blade to get rid of the smile, hone it properly and shave with it for a third generation?

    Thank you.

SM, are you able to assess restoration requirements sight unseen?

The fact that its an ancestor's blade is enough to suggest good restoration efforts. For my own blades, I do that myself, leaving resto for others to the pros. If I had an ancestor's blade, I would try to keep original - assuming blade and scales are sound, and I would have a pro do the work. You can't get another ancestor's blade.
