Ok I am a sucker for shoulderless blades and fancy spines. Saw this on the bay and had to have it. It has Kurt Dodge Hamburg Reeperbahn 143 on the front of the tang. Just the number 270 on the rear, Feinster Deutcher Silberstahl (Fine German silver steel) in gold wash on the blade with a crown on either side. It had a fully gold wash tang at one time. I have seen Aaronxs thread where he redid the DD Goldedge tang, and think I might have to contact him if he is still around. I have done a little googling for this maker and didn't find squat. The blade looks to be in really good shape. The bevel is a little weak on one side as it nears the toe.

    And here are the pictures:

Sucker for shoulderless blades here too, nice one. My guess is that Kurt Doege was a retailer not the maker and the Reeperbahn is the red light section of Hamburg or at least it was years ago so that is an interesting address.

Being a retired Sailor, I've been around a red light district or two, never saw any straights for sale though.

Yea, can't say I saw any in the Reeperbahn 45 years ago either but I am sure it is/was not all red light either.

As an old swabby myself, as best as I remember it wasn't razors I was looking for when I was looking at what was being offered in those areas.. Of course it wasn't razors that turned me on then. Today I would be much more inclined to look for razors.
