Thread: Poll: What's the Point ?

Did a search and the last time this question was polled was 6 months ago. Fairly recent, but in the wake of the razor width poll I thought a fresh look at which point is preferred would be interesting. This is multiple choice for those, like myself, who might prefer more than one style of point. Feel free to expound on what you chose and why.

I voted French, Spanish and notch. I like the ease of trimming above my mustache with such points. The notch allows me to go closer to center by placing the tip of the razor close to my nostril. The Spanish offers similar access as does the French point. AFAIC the notch, Spanish and French look wicked cool too.

I do have round and square points that I like and they shave well, but the more exotic points turn me on.

I prefer a point with some style to it...more pleasing to the eye and aids in use. My votes were for Spanish, French and Notch as well.

Voted French. Didn't realize I pick more than 1. Would have added square and notched.

As far as using goes any style will do for me but visually I like the unusual points other than round or spike. I did not vote because my preference in point style has no great influence over which of my razors I choose to shave with. I like them all.

I like the notched points and the square. Not a big fan of the french or round points - keeps making me want to butter something.

I voted French, Spanish, and Spike/Square. I like the ability those provide in all the tough to reach places. But also, and moreover, they look cool.

Spanish or Barbers notch as they can be muted a little and still look cool. Those aggressive spikes & true square points that are not muted...we don't get along too well in the shaving department. They are really cool though, but I'm a 3-pass guy and really prefer white lather...not pink/crimson lather.

Spanish, Spike, Square and French in that order.

Love the point (unmuted, kind of like carrying locked and cocked, what’s the point?). I have some spots only the Points, will shave properly. French because… Love those old elegant, classic French style blades and I can make them work.

I have no preference at all.
