    Default Bull dog razor

    I never heard of "bull dog" as a razor.
    Can't find any info about this brand name or who the maker can be. There is no other name or somthing like that.

    So my question to the great guys who have history info about almost any razor,do any of you know something of this brand??
    Thanks

    There is or was, a Bulldog brand pocket knife that came out of Solingen. Possibly related. Here is a pic I just harvested off an ebay listing ;

    The stamped logo on the razor is quite different than any of the ones used by Bulldog Brand knives. I doubt that they are related as I have been collecting Bulldog Brand knives for many years and have never ran across or even heard of them making a straight.

    You're probably right but ...... a buddy of mine has three Fightin' Rooster straight razors that came in a 7 day Fightin' Rooster branded razor case. As far as I knew Frank Buster didn't make razors, so I was surprised when my friend came up with those. OTOH, the logo on the B-dogs is quite different and the Roosters use the same logo as the knives.

    Also, most if not all Bulldog Brand knives are marked Bulldog Brand, not just Bulldog. I have dealt with the owner of the Bulldog Brand Company several times so will see if he could clarify this. Thanks.

    By the way I have seen a few sets of the Frank Buster razors over the years also

    I just heard back from the owner of Bulldog Brand knives and he has confirmed that the the Bulldog Brand company has never produced any straight razors, only pocket knives and a few fixed blades.

    Think I found a lead.

    http://www.archivingindustry.com/Pub...lermarks-1.pdf

    Page 22 for the text "Bull dog" and page 106 for the picture of a bulldog. Both say the maker is W. Beien & Co. Unfortunately I could not find anything on the maker. Hope this helps.
    The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.
