It looks like a current production with no manufacturer on the tang, that I can tell. Considering that & the price, I would not touch it.

I have an older, 40-50 year old Hen & Rooster, marked Solingen, Germany, under the logo. It shaves great. I don't believe yours is the same manufacturer.

Use our Classified section & get a good vintage straight for the same price. JMO

    Vegita,

I would not purchase that as a first razor. Not necessarily because of the brand, but because the advertisement provides no indication that it is professionally honed, which is all important for a straight razor imho.

    Just my 2 cents.

That's a wide berth. Do you want to know if it's a good razor? Or if it's worth buying? There isn't enough information or pictures on that site for me personally to make a decision. For a first razor I would spend a little more, go to SRD and find one there. Or the classifieds also have some good deals. That's just my two cents.

I've found their website that has Solingen Germany but they are going for 93. I dont understand how there can be more than one product with the same trademark. Also I found a classic dovo starter set through classic edge shaving, a company that advertises on this site. for 180+ I may save up for it. Also I noticed alot of these companies are sold out in most blades, it's back ordering that slow of a process or is it a sold out/ game over deal?

The trademark on the one you are asking about does not have "Solingen, Germany " on it, so maybe the manufacturer of your razor thinks that is enough to get by with.

Nothing wrong with the Dovo or numerous razors in our classified area.

Another vote for not purchasing the new "hen and rooster" blades. In my opinion you're better off buying vintage.

I'm not sure there are any current manufacturers in Spain. But there is no stamp in the tang that says so. That makes my radar go off. There used to be great razors from Spain.

yeah I found a dovo classic brand new with starter kit for 180. I did find an unused solingen germany stamped hen for 100 but can't beat the deal on that kit.
