    Default Question about Henkels Friodur

I thought I had read that blades that carry the Zwillingswerk stamp were made in the original Henckels Factory. I have one of the Friodurs that I thought came from the cache that Shaving Shop has/had that I believe were found and ground in 2008.

I am trying to date the blade...

Of course it could have been made at any point and just recently ground. Hoping for some intel on it.

I do hope someone has some solid input on this! To my knowledge, 'True' Friodur hasn't been made since the 40's-50's. There again I hope someone will be able to set me straight!

At almost 60 years old, I'm always eager to learn from others!:

I have seen Anniversary Edition Friodurs, stamped 1981 (I hope I got the year correct). Those are the only ones that I have seen with a year stamp though.

The first registration for the trademark "Friodur" was in 1951.

    Martin!

    Thank you!

I'd read that J.A. Henckel had taken out the patent for the process in 1930. However since your research shows that the original registration was as late as 1951 (or as far back as the records go), then the anniversary edition of 1981 makes a lot of sense! !

    Again, Thank You! :
