    Default First Shave

Well I finally did it. My straight came in the mail today fresh from the hone stone. I softened my whiskers with hot water and lathered up some C.O Bigelow green. After I worked that into my face I smoothed it over with the brush and grabbed my Challenge Razor Co. Razor and felt my manhood grow at least 4 inches. Here's how it went down. Being right handed I started on the right side of my face just under the sideburn doing short strokes working my way down. Let me say that I have never used a straight razor before but nothing felt more natural in my hand, my angle was good my strokes seemed you be good, thanks to the full hollow blade I was getting feedback in the scales. I should have stopped there but it was a pure surreal almost automatic urge spuring me on. The scary part is how natural the side off my neck felt to shave. Now I don't want to make you think it was the perfect shave it wasn't at all but was way better than I imagined. I got the sides of my face smooth feeling WTG. Under the lip the chin and the jawline remained hairy, that's going to take several shave and practice. Next time I think I'll keep at the WTG pass for the next couple shaves then slowly go from there. Got two nicks in the process of the shave but nothing major. I'm hooked I can't wait to I can get a strop so I can use it again.

good job man, keep the shaves coming
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

Disturbing at a level I can barely discuss.

Hey - I've been told that when you get a razor fresh from honing, it's good for two or three shaves before needing stropping...you you're probably good for at least another shave...
