Huge Joseph Elliot Blade
Looking for info... Some of you may remember I acquired this huge Joseph Elliot blade from a local guy, along with some other razors (see "New Acquisitions: Part II" thread). Well, I took some fine grit sandpaper to the blade last night, and was amazed by what I found hiding underneath the thick patina/whatever it was...
Etchings on the blade! I can make out some of it, like the Eagle and whatnot. But does anyone have a picture of one that shows these etchings more clearly? Also, does anyone know about how old this sucker might be? And thirdly (but lastly), where on god's earth do I find scales for this beast? Haha. If anyone has any big ones lying around they think might fit it, PM me...
I need money for my wife's school, but I'm extremely tempted to keep this one. It measures over an inch and is heavier than any other razor I've ever held, even with scales!

Damn, that's a big beauty! How wide is it?
And yeah, I need to learn how to make my own scales... I just don't have a lot of time these days, and no materials on hand. I'd rather track down a nice old pair that will do the job.

Got some scales from a very nice gentleman on here... They fit like a glove:
Now all I've got to do is hone her up!
