Some great ideas above but lets face the facts, you will never get it off and with your obvious disdain for the etching, well I think it would be best it you sent it to me......

Seriously 2000 or 3000 and a bit of time should do it, I would not be afraid to drop to 1000 grit if needed just use light pressure and go.

Have at it I look forward to the finished piece.

I like some etchings, just not store branded ones. But nothing beats a mirror polished blade. It just seems smoother to me. Prob just in my mind though. I like the spine on the top one too.

Obie, I think what you have is an extremely rare misprint in the etching, I believe it should say. "Evide Sonnant Extra Garish"

I would leave it as is, don't want to affect the value of such a rare piece.

A rare piece, all right. Imagine all the money it will bring me, if I can put up with the headache. I must admit, though, my friend, the razor feels comfortable in the hands, and it also took a beautiful edge. It's a great shaver.

    Hello Paul,

Thank you for your kind offer. It's something to keep in mind. I am still debating what to do with the razor, keep it as is, have the clutter removed from the blade, or just sell it. It's like a car that's bloody ugly, but, boy, does it soar on the highway.

Yeah the other thing to think about ..is if you take the etch off does it void the guarantee ?

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I don't think so. When I search for "Evidé Sonnant Extra", all the images show Garanti, not Garish.
