Plain Brown (black) Wrapper: What is it?
This half-hollow razor was a low-priced craigslist pickup. It has no nomenclature.
I might have passed it by but it was stout, cheap, in very nice shape, the scales and pins were rock-solid, it had zero rust or pitting and showed even wear suggesting somebody liked it and used it a lot. It went from a bad letter opener to shave ready with a few minutes of honing and stropping; it took an edge with very little effort, shaves close, quiet and smooth as silk.
I presume this was one of untold thousands of no-name barber's razors from somewhere back in the day. Can anyone tell me what I got?

You have one of untold thousands of no-name barber's razors from somewhere back in the day. Sharpen it up and have an anonymous shave.
It looks like it will probably give good service.

I would guess possibly a Torrey. Later ones had frosted-on tang stamps which were easily obliterated.
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
