    Default eBay blade buy

    Hi gents.
i scored the below for 45$ and figured I'd show and tell pre resto and ask about a couple as well.
The top right monster has a steel comb built in over a double edge, the one beside and lower to the left is an Ontario Cutlery "Alwin", and beside that are two smaller blades, one a no name and the bottom most a bone looking one called "Merit" by Paul Michel and made in Germany.
I also got a wade and butcher and a genco in the lot that may prove to be fine blades once restored.
The two smallest look like ladies shavers if they made them back then? as they are quite small and slender.
Ayway, I figure two or three in the bunch are, or can be worth the efforts to restore. Will be my first W and B once I find a set of pins and scales for her.
    cheers.

Looks like you got a good lot, and lots of honing practice ahead of you.

I've taken a few leads from ideas on here and in between cleanings on these blades I made a couple of strops from a nice strip of cow shoulder I got.
Made a 4 sided paddle with 8"x 1 3/4" working surfaces which is small enough to travel.

Also made a hanging strop based on an old one I had, strips of which went into the paddle. I have one side free still for felt or balsa.

I'm pleased with the results and they both seem to have a nice draw.
Of the blades I received, two need new scales. The Genco masterbarber and the Wade/Butcher sadly. But they both shined up and took a nice edge easly.

The funky scaled Lecran from Toledo and the Ontario Cutlery Alwin both came up really nice and super sharp. Although there is some pitting still on the Lecran that doesn't affect the edge.

A good day at the dremel and the other tools.. My wife is quick to say I got nothing accomplished today... I disagree.. :-)
    Cheers.
