    Talking ERN Razor question

    Hello guys,
    I got this razor on a flea market not long ago, because I wanted to try shaving with it. compared to my first razor (a gold dollar) it's way lighter than it, the edge is very very thin, in fact it can be curved with very little pressure.

    I think it's a keeper, but I'm guessing, is there any way to know the approximate year of manufacture? I couldn't find that in the wiki or though google (yet)

    Cheers

    Are there anymore markings on it, like numbers on the other side of the tang ?
    Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

    There is a number 350 near the eagle and snake logo

    Will try to post a better pic from that later

    A sack of potatoes feels light compared to a Gold Dollar

    The Gold Dollar also has an unusually thick-angled bevel, due to its very thick spine - your ERN is more representative of typical hollow-ground razors.

    I second that, Gold Dollars are heavy. Two of my favourite razors are ERNs, yours should be a fine shaver!

    @Oscroft indeed! LOL

    so far I love the ERN to shave, I still have the gold dollar, just in case, but I guess I will try to get some other razor soon.
    might it be posible to date the razor based on the logo? I read somewhere that the snake and logo was used until 1900 or so, is that right?

    Cheers

    go to strazors.com and look up the company. There is also a section on construction that tells all the parts of the razor and the year that design was used.
