That's what IM wishing to know. Got real confused searching and picking posts to read. Also I don't mind if the razor is a folder or not. Please help!?!?....

Japanese razors are not western ground they are ground in Japan, don't you mean western style? And when you say I don't mind if the razor is a folder or not I'm not sure what you mean if the Japanese razor is not a folder it's usually a Kamisori and not the western style you are looking for.

Bought a couple rather cheap on the 'bay but had to do a lot of serious work to make them usable. and lost some blade width doing it.

I mean I want a japanese steel razor made in Japan and any where from wedge to bellied hollow ground. And I don't care it it's a folding razor or a where the tang is also it's handle. But I don't want a true kamisori where honing and shaving techniques are different than western style razors. I want the legendary Quality japanese steel without having to learn shaving different than I do now or honing different than IM use to.
    Thank you,
    Swerve

Like glen said thy are hard to find and spendy...

I lucked out not too lomg ago on a local cash deal on a NOS d. hayashi 8000, this was after years of waiting- let's say its not leaving my collection. I think a lot of people lucky enough to make that score are in my same boat, that's why they don't come up often.
