Roger on Pkp's remarks about the rubber grip band - the Puma's with those have the same problem with them being rust magnets. One would think that we'd have the technology to make them truly watertight by now.
Regardless, that BL is really gorgeous! I love the blade shape; now if it had a thumb notch shank I'd have to have one and put up with the rubber grip.

Given my extreme aversion to modernity and classicism in a mixed setting, I think it is much more likely than not that that piece of rubber will go the way of the dinosaurs rather quickly. I live in Germany now, but will be back on the Gulf Coast tentatively for a few years next summer. A corrosive catalyst I will not voluntarily have. Especially in something I think is unattractive anyway.

I have one too and it's a great shaver. Unfortunately you need to take immaculate care of it cause if you ever need to deal with rust spots and similar the very thing that makes the piece beautiful will lead you to profanity trying to deal with the gold and the finish. You also need to hone it with tape on the spine to protect the gold.
