Default Hello, What can you guys tell me about this piece?

I've done a little research on it but I wanted to get some first hand information from some folks who know their stuff when it comes to straight razors.. I found this guy at an antique shop and I paid $65.00 for it.
What would guys say the most accurate date of origin would be for this piece and do you think I over paid. I believe it is in pretty good condition considering its age and even if I did over pay, it was worth it to me..
anyway, thank you so much in advance for any information you can give me..

Best guess from me as to date is pre 1891 with only Sheffield stamped on the tang not Sheffield England. Looks to be in decent shape too.

I think the scales are probably toast but the razor looks good.

Scales look find to me, as long as they function I would keep them.

looks like you done a good deal to me. wipe the scales with neatsfoot oil or i used baby oil because i had it lying around already and leave it to soak in for a couple days then you just have to get that bad boy honed.

I think you'll be very satisfied with the razor and the price.

Looks like a good razor, have it honed and learn what all the fuss is about!
