A word about Henkels Friodur razors...
Yes!
I picked up a nice Henkels Friordur for less than an arm and a leg that had a clean edge but was only slightly sharper than a letter opener. After running a few strokes on a 1k King, 4/8K Norton, 60 licks on a CrOx'ed poly webbing and another 60 on leather the blade passed a HHT, an AHT and, I thought, was ready to shave.
It was and I was not disappointed. The blade shaved clean and easy on a wiry two-day growth. This Friodur is quite rigid. It lends less tactile and audible feedback that a full hollow carbon blade but it tells enough to feel responsive. It has the "plow through" feeling of a half-hollow; scales, though slighly warped, close cleanly and feel bulletproof on two pins.
I am a fan.Last edited by MisterMoo; 09-17-2013 at 02:12 PM.
