Thanked: 1Can't get a smooth shave...
Hello to all and greetings from sunny Guam USA...
Looking for some advice on how to deal with my new razor (bottom photo).
I bought it from SRP and I love the look and feel of it, however, it's quite painful when getting busy with my walrus whiskers. I've stropped the hell out of it, and it just shaves really rough. Does anyone have any tips on dealing with this type of steel? My other dovo (also from SRP pictured top) shaves like a dream, with 20 laps on a paddle strop before and after shaving.
I know the steels used are different, but I don't know if the care is different and if it is, what to do. I don't want it to collect dust.

has the bismarck been honed by someone or is it factory honed? factory honed "dovos" are not shave rdy imo. have someone with experiance put a new edge on it.

how long have you been shaving?
the bismarck looks considerably bigger so i think you just need to readjust your angles compared to the smaller blade and just use that exclusively till you get used to the sizeNet.Wt.7oz

Thanked: 1936YOu bought it from SRP or SRD? WHere do you live? Sounds like you either need a honing mentor to check if the razor is shave ready or you need a shave mentor to ensure you are shave ready...
