I have a geneva cutlery corp. 7N Geneva N.Y. U.S.A. the width of the blade is either 5/8-or 6/8 it has a round tip. blade length is 3 inches. It has a flat black handle with a white spacer at the bottom. overall length of blade is 5 1/2 inches and the handle is 5 and 3/8ths. I Cant find out when this was made i have the original box. pretty rough shape but the razor looks almost perfect. Any info on this razor would be helpful cant seem to find much on it. thanks guys

Bill - The Geneva Cutlery Co. was in business from 1902 until 1935. Unfortunately there is very little information that would accurately lock down the age of your razor. Geneva used very good steel and they made a quality product. Is the spot at the toe of the razor discolored or is that some sort of reflection? There is something that looks odd about the end, like maybe it was shortened. But, it might just be the angle that the razor is photographed from.

You have a fine example of New York State cutlery. Geneva cutlery was a quality outfit, and search of SRP will bring up many threads happily discussing Genevas, the transition of Geneva to Genco, and from Genco to Case. Western New York was the home of several great cutlery concerns. Please don't buy any more, I'd prefer to have them all to myself.

Thanked: 0Hey thanks Stimpy! And walt, sry about the crappy pics my go pro isnt working to well right now. heres a few more. I dont believe it has been altered at all. It looks to be in excellent condition to me. and there are no spots or anything, almost looks like its been in it's box it's whole life. I've been doing research all day and i believe it was made from 1907-1909 and i think thats why it has the 7N stamp inside the pyramid. anyone have any clue to what these are worth?

Thanked: 1184Well, brand new it went for about 3 bucks. I don't think your going to get anybody to price it beyond there because it all depends on too many different things. Price is not actually allowed in open forum and sales are only allowed in the classified section. It's looks like a nice one and are you using it now ? How long have you been using a straight ?

Thanked: 0Oh my apologies.. I am currently using it. Had to try it out first thing a month ago when i laid eyes on her. I've only been using this straight for about a month. Ive always been fascinated with them and always wanted one just never got around on getting one. But when i saw this i had to have it. I bought it off an old timer having a garage sale. Found it in the bottom of a trunk i was looking at and offered him 10 for it he said 12 and thats all she wrote. I would never sell this thing. Im a collector of many things some would prolly call me a hoarder but i cant give up any of my things new or old. Im only 25 so i have some years left to practice this art form. I just hope i dont cut my juggular haha.

Thanked: 1184Sounds like you doing great so far with a priceless razor :<0) . I noticed just a few posts so welcome to SRP. I have only been here for about a year but I found this is the place to learn. I assume you have all the gear you need to go with it if you have been shaving for a month.

Thanked: 0Ha! not even close! I "borrowed" my dads gear. I still need everything. I was just laid off about two months ago and am a little tight on money so im going to have to continue to borrow his things for a little longer. But if you have any tips on what and where i can get things on the cheap that would be awesome.. Thanks everyone

The art form of hoarding or shaving I think places like wallmart sell the van Der Hagen starter set for about the price of your razor, and places like whipped dog also sell inexpensive stuff like strops. It's not an advert for either as I have not used either vendor.
Glad you are getting into it.
All the best,
